One of the more popular Alaskan adventures is wildlife photography. As with any outdoor activity visitors should always expect the unexpected. Butch, of Kupreanof Flying Service, was born and raised in Petersburg, Alaska and his knowledge of our local wildlife is a valuable asset to have on your Alaskan vacation.
While no outdoor adventure charter or tour operator can guarantee when and where wildlife will appear, experience and knowledgeable Alaskans like Butch can improve the odds in your favor. Petersburg’s central location in southeast Alaska’s inside passage puts you within short distance to some of the best Alaska wildlife viewing and photo opportunites.
Two managed brown bear viewing sites, Pack Creek and Anan Creek are located within 45 minutes flying time of Petersburg, Alaska and 30 minutes from Wrangell, Alaska. Closer to Petersburg, Butch has a couple of special tours for observing black bears which he always enjoys sharing. Whether it’s Alaska bears, eagles, deer, moose, goats, whales, or sea lions you are wanting to photograph, contact butch@kupreanof.com
